ABOUT

For the Winter 2018 semester, my Meeting and Event Management class worked with a client of GVSU's Student Academic Success Center. The client wanted us to host the first Winter Major's Fair. Normally there is only one Major's Fair hosted in the Fall semester. Our client's hope was for students with undeclared majors to attend. By attending these students could be exposed to many of the majors GVSU has to offer or pick a parallel plan. The Winter Major's Fair was held on March 20, 2018, before students would register for upcoming classes. The client's goal was to get 225 students to attend. To help the client meet this goal we created a festival/fair-like environment for the event with the catch-phrase, "Pick a SWEET Major!" Our unique theming greatly contrasted with previous Major's Fairs. To explain each part of the event production the following tabs will cover an area of the event:

My class! We spent the Winter 2018 semester planning this event. It was a great "real-life" experience and our student insight helped us deliver an event that was equally enjoyable and informative.
