Attendee Agenda

The agenda for event attendees went as follows:

  • Times: Anytime between 3-5p.m. at Henry Hall on the GVSU campus.

    • Upon arrival, the students would either enter by the registration table or directed by an Events student stationed at the other entrances. The students need to register before enjoying the sweet treats and visiting majors departments. It was critical as our client needed to meet the attendance requirement of 225 students. At registration students could also get popcorn from the popcorn popper stationed there.

    • After the student successfully registered, he or she received an activity "passport" which encouraged students to talk to four different major departments at the event. Each department would sign off on a printed candy icon on the passport.

      • After talking to one department a student could get one of the many sweets available to eat and enjoy the coffee & hot chocolate bar

        • Passports were marked to control food consumption at the beginning of the event. This was to make sure there was enough food to last the duration of the event.

      • After talking to four departments students could enter submit their passports into a raffle for prizes. The participating students needed to write their name and e-mail on the passport before submission. The satisfying ending was the prizes, which included GVSU cups and shirts donated by the history department.

    • Between 3:45-4:15 GVSU's very own Louie the Laker made an appearance to get students hyped and pose for photos.

    • After the activity and Louie the Laker experience students were free to continue chatting with the major's departments.

    • At 5 p.m. registration was officially closed. This was the scheduled event end time.

    • At 5 p.m. all passports needed to be collected to be entered in the raffle. The raffle was done post-event by Event students on the activity committee. Winning students were contacted via e-mail to collect their prize from the Student Academic Success Center.

Signage

Signage throughout our event helped students navigate the major's departments, find registration, and find the activity. All signage reinforced the fair-like environment and sweet treats theming. The color scheme was bright pastels making it eye-catching. Also, the signs aided in event legibility. To keep the theme cohesive we created signs for the department using the same color scheme and banner. Each department provided their own GVSU table clothes stating their department. This opposing school blue color made it easier for students to locate major's they were interested in.
